RESEARCH QUESTION:

How did the role of the United States in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict relate to what happened on September 11, 2001?

Following the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, people all across the United States began questioning, "Why did this happen to us?" The answer to that question is not simple. However, many people believe that Israel is indirectly to blame for the attack, "because the protection it receives from America makes America itself a target of Muslim rage." ('The Unblessed Peacemaker" 19) The goal of this research project is to investigate how the relationship between the United States and Israel, and the United States and Palestine, related to the hatred which caused the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
