TO OTHER ONLINE DIGITAL ORAL RESEARCH PROJECTS
Course
Description:
A practical
introduction to methods and techniques of gathering and documenting oral
research using digital audio technology. Students will learn to interview
people in order to record and organize information relevant to specific
historical, social, cultural, ethnic or other areas of research interest.
Completed digital oral research projects will be included in the college
library's oral history website. Transfer credit: CSU.
This course is targeted to
students doing oral research projects for other concurrent courses (e.g.
history, English or other social science or humanities courses.) The goals of
the course are to support the oral research activities of those students and
the instructors of the courses they are taking concurrently and to encourage students
to do oral research projects related to North San Mateo County communities,
history & issues in order to begin to build the Skyline College / North San Mateo County Online Oral History
Archive on the
Library's website.
