AFT 1493 FALL 2003 NEGOTIATIONS SURVEY

Dear Colleague:

The current contract between the AFT and the District expires on June 30, 2004. The AFT negotiations team is preparing to negotiate with the District the contract for the next three years. As you know, the contract is made up of 23 articles and 7 appendixes, labeled A through G (see below for listing). Every issue contained in these articles or appendixes may be a proper subject for discussion during the next round of negotiations. One of your privileges as a member of AFT Local 1493 is to help us set priorities and directions on the negotiations process by giving us your input on what issues concern you the most. In order to help us develop new contract proposals, please complete the survey below.

You may refer to:

If you need more information or have suggestions call the AFT Office at 574-6491.

Please consult the contract, if possible, and identify what you consider to be the most important priorities that should be addressed in the next round of negotiations with the District.
(If you have ranked your priorities, please number your priorities starting with #1 for top-ranked priority.)

If possible, it would be very useful for the negotiating team if, in addition to specifying general sections of the contract, you could also suggest specific proposals of what you would like to see changed or added to the contract.

Please don’t hesitate to provide additional concerns or comments.

Would you be willing to help the negotiations team develop contract proposals?
