PART TIME FACULTY AREAS OF CONCERN SURVEY

The purpose of this survey is to help AFT gather information from part-timers which we can then use when we negotiate the next contract. The issues listed are those that were mentioned frequently in earlier surveys and from what we have heard voiced by part-timers at meetings and privately. There is space provided at the end of each heading and at the end of the survey to add your concerns not mentioned in the questionnaire. They will be taken seriously!

We realize the following are all important issues, but for the purpose of focusing in on the most crucial, it would help if you’d rank these from 1-11, with 1 being the most important:
    Better available health insurance
Dependable seniority system for part timers
Part timers salary should be distributed in equal increments
Job security, for example a 2 year contract
    Pro-rata pay
    Direct deposit of paychecks
Better communication of retirement programs available
Part timers should be given preference in full time hiring at the districts where they work
Part-timers should have their own e-mail on campus
    Compensation for office hours
    Compensation for committee work

Please give us suggestions for any other district-wide issue(s):
