SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY
Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development (CAD)
The degree program is an interdisciplinary, cross-professional undergraduate degree for students interested in studying and working with issues related to children, adolescents, youth and families. The CAD degree is designed to provide students with extensive knowledge of child and adolescent development and its applications to services for children and families, research, and public policy development.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program prepares students for entry level positions in professional nursing practice. The program provides the basis for leadership and graduate education in nursing. Graduates are prepared for staff nurse positions in maternity, pediatrics, medical-surgical nursing, gerontology, psychiatric/mental health, community health and home care nursing. Graduates are eligible for RN licensure and Public Health Nursing Certification in California upon completion of the program. BSN graduates practice in a variety of settings including hospitals, community clinics, long term care, home care, and community health agencies. The program is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and accredited by the American Association of Colleges in Nursing (AACN).
Spanish/English Interpretation Program
This academic certificate program is designed to develop the interpreting skills necessary for service as a Spanish/English interpreter in the courts, in state agencies, and in the medical evaluation system of workers' compensation. It is specifically designed to prepare participants to pass the State of California Court Interpreter Certification Exam. The program faculty are state-certified court interpreters.
Center for Teacher Efficacy
The Center for Teacher Efficacy is a deep, wide-ranging partnership project designed to provide on-going, meaningful professional development opportunities for area teachers so they can better prepare their diverse students for the future. As the teachers' educational needs change, faculty from the San Francisco State University College of Education offer specialized classes addressing current issues.

Program for Accelerated College Education (PACE)
Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science with an option in Administration
Students can complete the upper division coursework leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science with an option in Administration by attending Cal State East Bay classes held on the Cañada College campus in Redwood City. These courses are offered in a combination of face-to-face and online formats.
The program is designed to provide a strong academic foundation in Healthcare management. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, students gain a foundation in the biological sciences while exploring current practices and challenges facing health populations and health care systems in today's society. The program prepares students for employment in governmental and non-governmental organizations including health departments, hospitals, community clinics, health service agencies, insurance and pharmaceutical companies, and many other settings.

Bachelor of Science in Human Services
The curriculum in the Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services is designed to prepare working professionals for positions in both the profit and non-profit employment.
Positions in the health and human services fields are varied and diverse, and have expanded in scope for the providers due to recent federal and state legislation. Employees in Human Services often work in mental health organizations, law enforcement, health-care facilities, employee relations departments, and in government or community advocacy programs.
Human Services providers have been challenged to serve clients beyond the basic assistance needed to address prevention and educational awareness for social issues and concerns. Corporations also have a renewed commitment to support the broader needs of workers by increasing the staffing and hiring in human resources, benefits administration, and employee assistance.
