- This week – Sign Up NOW: Guaranteed 4.0 Workshop want to improve your grades? Participate in our first “Guaranteed 4.0” workshop. Fri 19th 2-5pm and Sat 20th 12-4pm plus Apr 2nd 1:30-3:30pm (with free food). Limited number of spaces so you must sign up – talk to Tom Nguyen and/or Cathy ASAP.
- Monday 5-6:30pm – Physics Tutoring Fernando Novoa, a Stanford PhD student in Materials Science & Engineering and grad from Tecnológico de Monterrey, is volunteering to help students with Physics on Monday nights! Come by with your Physics challenges and meet Fernando.
- Tues 11am-1pm - FUNDRAISER: Eat lunch & Help Haiti Earthquake Victims stop by and buy a Chipotle burrito for a great cause. The Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) club will be raising money to help victims of the earthquake in Haiti -- Main Quad
- Tues 3:30-4:30pm – WORKSHOP: Spring Scholarships find out what makes a successful application to the 8 scholarships due in the next few weeks. MESA Student Lounge
- Thurs -- Noon – free lunch for everyone participating in the Math Challenge
- Thurs 12:30-1:45pm– MESA Math Challenge tackle 20 math questions in 60 minutes. There’s NO downside to participating – no public humiliation! Individual scores will not be shared with anyone (and you’ll really impress your math professor simply by participating, several are offering extra credit!). The top 5 scores from Cañada students will be our “team” and that group will be ranked with teams from other MESA programs in our region and across the state.
- Final week! Thursday Stanford’s Women in Engineering Seminars The WISE club organizes groups to go to talks each week from women in engineering. Focus is “Real Lives Have Curves”. Refreshments at 4pm. Thornton 110 http://www.stanford.edu/group/mewomen/ email: asylvia@my.smccd.edu

- Mar 21-22nd (Sun and/or Mon) – American Chemical Society National Conference – Student Program talk to Professor Medina or Cathy NOW if you are interested in learning more about Chemistry. This is an excellent opportunity to find out more about careers related to Chemistry and learn from students at 4-year colleges across the US. - March 24th 2:30pm – SPEAKER: Careers in Genetics Counseling find out what genetics counselors do, what training is needed and the variety of career paths for students interested in genetics. Speaker from Stanford’s Master’s Degree program in Genetics Counseling – at MESA Center
- March 25th 6-8pm – SPEAKER PANEL: Women in Engineering & Science brought to you by the WISE club on-campus, come meet 6 scientists and engineers from a variety of backgrounds and careers. At MESA Center

Volunteers Needed! FIRST Robotics Competition
March 17-20th FIRST Robotics Competition at San Jose State (regional competition for high school teams). The organization needs a lot of volunteers of all ages and talents (both technical and non-technical) to run the competition. Volunteers will receive a **complimentary FIRST T-shirt** to be worn on-site at all times when they are volunteering. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.

- Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) – Tues @ 2:30pm For all women majoring in science & engineering, this new club is affiliated with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the American Women in Science (AWIS).
- Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) – Thurs @ 2pm Interested in engineering or computer science? Want to meet engineering students at 4-year universities and professionals working in engineering jobs?
- Robotics Club – Fri 1-3pm Curious about how robots work? Interested in helping come up with new ideas? Open to all majors.
- Pre-Med/Health Careers Club –every other week - Tues @ 12:30pm or Wed @ 2pm – Headed toward a career in healthcare? Want to meet nurses, doctors and visit hospitals? join the club by sending an email to: ccms721@gmail.com
