Course Description: This course presents a historical and critical survey of the most influential philosophers and philosophical movements in the period between the Copernican Revolution and the Enlightenment, paying particular attention to the scientific and political revolutions of the modern age. We will study the work of Bacon, Descartes, Hobbes, Spinoza, Leibniz, Locke, Berkeley, Hume, Rousseau, Kant, and others. Recommended: eligibility for ENGL 100 Transfer Credit: UC; CSU (C2) |
