Who
can use the English 800 Lab?
English 828, 838, and 848 students must complete a lab component, which equates to approximately sixteen hours in addition to the work in their English classes. All students completing their lab component requirement can use the lab.
Drop-in hours are also available for all CSM students during Fall 2009 on Monday through Thursday from 1 until 2:30 p.m.
Where
is the English 800 Lab?
The English
800 Lab is located in Building 18, Room 102.
What
does the English 800 Lab provide?
It provides
one-on-one tutoring with English instructors, tutorials (in hard copy
and on the web) and English and ESL group workshops to assist students
with their writing skills. With their reporting forms, students can also
use the computers in the Writing Center to work on their essays.
How
do I make an appointment?
To make
an appointment to see a lab instructor, stop by the English 800
Lab (18-102) and sign up on the appointment sign-up sheets posted
on the bulletin board at the front of the room. The current list
will be posted on the bulletin board. The list for the following
two weeks will be on clipboards near the bulletin board in the Writing
Center.
If there are no conferences available, you may come to the Writing
Center during the hour you want to see an instructor and sign the
stand-by list. Although there are no guarantees, more often than
not, instructors can work people on stand-by into their schedules.
When
is it open?
During Spring and Fall semesters, the English 800 Lab is open Monday
through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and during Summer sessions,
we are open from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. When we are closed, students
may stop by the Writing Center, 18-104, for assistance. |
