Accreditation Self Study 2007 Timeline

  September 2005  Accreditation Steering Committee, co-chairs, and editors appointed
  September 30, 2005 Steering Committee and co-chairs attend ACCJC/WASC Self Study Workshop  (Kelly, Griffin, Claire, Stanford, Comerford, Alunan, Diskin, Ramezane, Tilmann, Sewart, Avelar)
  October 2005

Lead co-chairs—an administrator and a faculty—for Standards are appointed; Co-chairs begin to recruit committee members

  November 2005 Standard co-chairs complete committees, comprised of administrators, faculty, classified staff, and students
  November-December 2005 College-wide surveys of students, faculty, classified staff, and administrators conducted
  December 1, 2005 Accreditation Kick-Off meeting for Standards chairs and Standards committee members
  January 2006 Information from surveys compiled and distributed
  February 2006 Standards committees begin research and writing
  March 2006

Presentations to the SMCCCD Board of Trustees and to the Governing Council of the Academic Senate; First Accreditation Newsletter distributed college-wide; Standards committees continue research and writing

  April 2006

Standards committee co-chairs make oral progress reports to the Steering Committee;  Standards committees continue research and writing

  May 1, 2006 First draft of self study due to Steering Committee for feedback
  May – June 2006 First draft of self study reviewed by editors and discussed with co-chairs
  Summer 2006 First draft of self study compiled by editors
  September 2006

First draft of self study distributed to co-chairs;  Presentations made to the SMCCCD Board of Trustees and Governing Council of the Academic Senate; Second Accreditation Newsletter distributed college-wide:  Standards committees continue research and writing

  October – November 2006 Standards committees continue research and writing
  December 2006 Second draft of self study submitted by standards co-chairs to Steering Committee for feedback
  January – February 2007 Editing of second draft of self study done by editors in consultation with co-chairs
  March 2007

Self-study draft posted on college intranet for review and feedback by SMCCCD Board of Trustees, personnel at the District Chancellor’s Office, CSM students, classified staff, faculty, and administrators; Print copies of the self study made available for review and feedback in division offices and the library

  April 2007

Two open forums held to solicit feedback on the self study from the college community; Open period for feedback to co-chairs continued; Co-chairs and standards committees respond to feedback and make revisions to self-study draft

  May 2007 Final editing and proofreading of self study completed
  Summer 2007 Self study presented to SMCCCD Board of Trustees
  August 2007 Self study printed
  September 2007

Self study mailed to visiting team members and ACCJC
