PHOTO OF THE WEEK

"Handheld" Moon
This week's remarkable image comes from Rob Noth & Lisa Gradwohl, both regular attendees at CSM's monthly
"Jazz Under The Stars" event. The image was taken with a Panasonic DMC-FX07 digital camera, held to the eyepiece of our 140mm TEC refractor.  ISO 100, 1/200 second exposure, processed in Photoshop CS2 (resize, adjust levels, unsharp mask).

The image reveals great detail along the terminator, and Mares Serenitatis and Tranquillitatis show prominently. The large crater almost dead center is 81 mile wide Albategnius.

The photo was taken under steady skies during April 12 "Jazz Under The Stars" night. Thanks Rob and Lisa !
