History

College of San Mateo, the oldest and larges of the three San Mateo County Community College District schools is located on a 153 acre site which provides a panoramic view of the San Francisco Bay Area. The campus opened in its current College Heights location in 1963 and currently serves over 12,000 students a day.

Academics

As of 2006, the College of San Mateo ranks 5th out of the 108 community colleges when it comes to academic success. Academic success is defined as students either obtaining their AA degrees or transferring to 4 year institutions.

Campus Life

CSM is located 20 miles from San Francisco and 35 miles from San Jose. The college is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. This provides students with a wealth of events and activities to choose from on a daily basis.
