In his fourth season as offensive coordinator at CSM, Bret Pollack unveiled the "Spread 'Em and Shred 'Em" offensive which burst onto the junior college scene in the 2001 season. The offense which combines an option running game with a run and shoot passing attack, created havoc for defensive coordinators. The Bulldogs finished the year 2nd in the state in scoring with 46 points per game and 4th in total offense with 480 yards per game. Always striving for balance between the run and pass, the Bulldogs finished 4th in the state in rushing and had California's #1 rated passer in Jason Douglas. Bret's offense has produced back to back to back All-State quarterbacks.
