Week #1
"Chabot No Match for CSM"
CSM 46   Chabot 19

Game Recap
CSM quarterback Steve Haren has visualized success for quite some time. At six, he was a CSM ball boy and traveled with the team for many years to most of the road games, taking notes along the way, hoping one day he might be taking snaps under center. But even Haren could not have imagined a better performance than the one he displayed on Saturday night. The sophomore signal caller was nearly perfect, completing 15 of 19 passes for 219 yards and two TD’s, leading the visiting Bulldogs to a 46-19 blitzing of host Chabot in the season opener.

Player of the Game - Steve Haren

“It’s an advantage growing up in the program. I’ve been coming to these games for a long time and I’ve already visualized what it would be like in this type of setting.” - Steve Haren, Sophomore Quarterback

Week #2
"Bulldogs Crush Foothill"
CSM 36   Foothill 0

Game Recap
The CSM football team heard the talk all week. According to safeties Corky Lindsay and Surrell Davis, the Bulldogs were being labeled as “soft” by the Foothill Owls. Calling a solid football team soft is like calling that late Mother Teresa evil – why do it? CSM punished and bulled its way for a whopping 228 yards on 53 carries. Foothill’s QB was 3 for 18 with 3 interceptions. CSM played the smash mouth brand of football that coach Larry Owens and Co. so dearly covet in a game that clearly illustrated the Bulldogs’ superior physical conditioning.

Player of the Game - CSM Defense which completely shut down the Foothill attack.

“I think we have a pretty good defense. And you look at the offense and the way they went about pounding the ball… they kept the defense off the field. That’s a winning combination right there.” - Larry Owens, Head Coach

Week #4
"Bulldogs Bury Cabrillo"
CSM 71   Cabrillo 26

Game Recap
The CSM football team earned a big win Saturday. CSM ranked 11th in the state scored as many points in the first quarter as the Seahawks would score the whole game. With the game never in doubt, the Bulldogs rolled 71-26.

Player of the Game - Brandon O’Bannon, 4 catches for 100 yards and 2 TD’s

“This was an extremely important game for us. Up to this point, we’ve gotten win over historically solid football programs. This was one where we wanted to come out, play and not worry about the score or what the other team is doing. It was all about how we execute, block and tackle” - Steve Haren, Sophomore Quarterback

Week #5
"CSM Looks for Blowout Win in Every Game"
CSM 44   Gavilan 12

Game Recap
When College of San Mateo starting quarterback Steve Haren went down with a knee injury two weeks ago, it could have spelled doom for the seventh ranked team in California. But in came Dion Pickett and out came a 44-12 thrashing of Gavilan. Pickett went 16 of 26 for 240 yards and 2 TD’s. It only emphasizes the fact that you cannot have enough talent. CSM stockpiles blue chip packages faster than UPS.
