Week #1
"CSM rushes all over Chabot"
CSM 21   Chabot 14

Game Recap
The Bulldogs (1-0) did exactly that, although how remains a better question. They rushed for a school-record 463 yards, and could’ve had even more had it not been for three touchdowns negated by holding penalties. CSM had to overcome 15 penalties totaling 126 yards, which is believed to be the team’s highest total in the last five years. One thing is for certain: The Bulldogs are not lacking for team speed as they were a year ago. CSM busted off 10 plays that netted 20 yards or more, showing the kind of explosiveness that will be needed when NorCal Conference plays starts in a couple of weeks. Freshman Ryan Faumuina (seven carries, 92 yards), a 5-foot-9, 205-pound tailback out of San Leandro High, came up with perhaps the biggest play of the night when he rushed for a 58-yard touchdown to make it 21-7 with 4:41 left in the third quarter.

Week #3
"CSM blanks West Hills"
CSM 49   West Hills 0

Game Recap
The College of San Mateo offense has been in a groove the first two weeks of the season, averaging 446 yards and 30.5 points per game. Saturday in the Bulldogs’ home game against West Hills, the offense continued to hum along while the defense showed it is a unit not to be overlooked. While the Bulldog’s offense racked up over 500 yards, the defense held the Falcons to just 284 yards of total offense and kept them off the scoreboard in a 49-0 Bulldogs’ win. Despite the dominating effort, they’re not content.

Player of the Game - David Lomu DL (Sequoia High) – 2 Sacks and 8 tackles

“They didn’t score but we still have a lot to do, Obviously we got better (from last week), but there’s always mistakes and we have to clean those up. ” - Joey Guntren, Sophomore Linebacker, Captain

Week #5
"Gavilan poses no threat against powerful Bulldogs"
CSM 51   Gavilan 13

Game Recap
College of San Mateo football coach Larry Owens was taking a look at the stat sheet of Saturday’s game when he was asked what he had liked from his team’s performance. Owens paused for five seconds, searching for something positive to say before he grinned and commented, “I like the final score.” The host Bulldogs’ 51-13 win over Gavilan College of Gilroy was hardly a shock; CSM (4-1) was expected to win going away. What the game did give Owens and his coaching staff was a sense of how much they needed to improve before entering NorCal Conference play in two weeks at Butte.

Player of the Game - EJ Boganey Slot (James Logan) – 4 catches for 69 yards, 1 TD

“We wanted to get a nice win and go into conference play with some momentum.” - EJ Boganey, Sophomore Slot

Julian Edelman rushed for 217 yards and three touchdowns, and passed for a fourth, as the College of San Mateo football team beat Foothill College 38-28 in Los Altos Hills, the Bulldogs’ first win over the Owls since a 36-0 win in 2003. Edelman, a true freshman quarterback out of Woodside High, led CSM (1-1 NorCal Conference, 5-2 overall) to an upset over Foothill, which was ranked No.3 in Northern California and No.6 in the state. Edelman’s performance was the second-highest rushing totals in school history. Leonard Morris set the mark of 227 yards in 1987 against San Jose City College.

Week #9
"Bulldogs secure bowl berth, Smash Sacramento"
CSM 45   Sacramento 7

Game Recap
College of San Mateo football coach Larry Owens gathered his players for a good ol’ fashion pep talk. Host CSM was up 6-0, but Sacramento City had a first-and-goal at the Bulldogs’ 4-yard line midway through the first quarter. Owens was livid moments earlier after he felt the referees had blown a call. So he called a timeout, and knowing that he was going to get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for staying on the field too long — a minimal loss of yards since it was a half the distance to the goal line variety — Owens spent the time firing up his defense.

Player of the Game - Sean Connor RB – 4 Rushing TD’s

“Coach O was pumped up, he told us we better buckle up and get after 'em.” - Gerald Thompson, Sophomore Linebacker

Week #11
"CSM wins Bulldog Bowl"
CSM 41   Sequoias 39

Game Recap
Gil Hernandez was a perfect 8 for 8 on field goal attempts this season for the College of San Mateo football team. But he never faced the situation that confronted him late Saturday afternoon — a 29-yard field-goal attempt with just over two seconds to play and his team trailing by a point. But the freshman out of Woodside didn’t waver. The snap and hold were clean and Hernandez booted it through the uprights as time expired, setting a wild celebration as CSM beat College of the Sequoias 41-39 to win the first annual Bulldog Bowl at College Heights Stadium at College of San Mateo.
