Successful CSM football program bumped-up to "tougher" conference
What do three consecutive conference championships and three straight bowl invitations get you?
For CSM's football team, those achievements have brought it recognition as one of the best football programs in Northern California. Proof of that came recently when the Bulldogs were elevated from the Golden Gate to the new "Nor-Cal" Conference.
Beginning this fall, CSM will be pitted against teams such as national powerhouse City College of San Francisco, solid rival to the south Foothill College and Butte College, a bruising nemesis from the north.
"We welcome the challenge of playing in a very competitive conference," said Gary Dilley, dean of CSM's Physical Education Division.

CSM student Aashish Jha discusses his role as District student trustee
The College's Aashish Jha was elected last spring by students at CSM, Cañada College and Skyline College to represent them on the District Board of Trustees during the 2003-04 academic year.
Over the year, he has been fulfilling his role as what is officially called "Student Trustee." In an article in the Meet a Student section linked above, Jha briefly discusses that role, which goes beyond attending and participating in District Board meetings.
Also, in that section, you can read short biographies on CSM's student government officers and senators. Accompanying the bios are photos of the student representatives so you will recognize them around campus.

CSM Internal News Update
February 25, 2004
From time to time, CSM Internal will deliver mid-week updates to its Monday edition, especially when it gets word of a notable event in the history of CSM such as this one:
First home swim meet for a CSM team in more than 25 years this Friday, a call for campus support
Coach Randy Wright has his team ready for CSM's first home swim meet in more than 25 years. It will take place on campus this Friday, February 27, beginning at 3:30 pm. The opponent will be West Valley College, whose football team ruined what would have otherwise been an undefeated 2003 season for the Bulldogs.
All CSM staff, faculty and administrators are encouraged to support the College's revived aquatic sport program. Although CSM and Wright brought back swimming as a sport last year, all of the team's meets were away.
For more information, contact Wright at (650) 574-6449 or wrightr@smccd.net.
