Services provided by the Student Activities Office include:
Student Activities Event Planning
The Coordinator of Student Activities is available to assist campus organizations in the development, planning, and approval of campus programs and events. College policy questions, facilities reservations, security planning, audio/visual requests, insurance requirements, health and safety reviews, risk management planning, publicity, and other considerations for special events are coordinated through the Student Activities Office.
Housing Assistance
Dormitories and other types of college-sponsored housing are not offered by College of San Mateo. However, the Student Activities Office maintains up-to-date listings of housing available in the community. The majority of listings are in private homes, but apartments and shared houses are also sometimes available. If you are interested in renting out a room in your home, or have a different type of housing available for CSM students, please contact the Student Activities Office or use our online form to place an ad.
Student Government and Club Information
Information concerning any aspect of student government, student activities, or clubs may be obtained in the Student Activities Office. The SAO also provides student groups with duplicating, publicity, and clerical services. More information about student government is available in the ASCSM section of this site. Referral Services
The Student Activities Office maintains current referral listings of services available through College and community agencies. We can assist students through referrals to the campus Health Center, Psychological Services, Tutorial Center, Child Development Center, and community agencies for such services as legal assistance, family planning, and women's services.
Transportation Information
Bus passes, bus and train schedules, carpool matching services, maps, and general transportation assistance are available through the Student Activities Office.
Campus Posting Information
All signs, flyers, or similar materials must follow campus regulations regarding time, place, and manner of distribution. Copies of these regulations are available in the Student Activities Office and online.
