Description: The scope of this project includes renovation of 7 classrooms and associated spaces in Building 19. The spaces include the main Computer Information Science (CIS) lab, the overflow lab, the server room, an instructional aide office and a storage closet. In addition, three general lecture classrooms will be renovated. The work to be completed includes new partition walls, doors and hardware, paint and flooring, replacement ceilings and light fixtures, adding air conditioning for the computer labs, new electrical and data communications for the computers, and furniture. Classroom 121 and office 119A will be combined into one large classroom with a capacity of 78 persons, to satisfy the need for large group instruction. The CIS Department will be relocated into this renovated space during Summer 2004. Benefits: Building 19 has been identified as a permanent home for the CIS computer labs and lecture courses. Renovation of the classrooms intended to support the CIS program will provide a facility conducive to modern and future pedagogical methodology for CIS. Renovation of the other three general lecture classrooms for general College use will benefit all College departments. Status: Complete |
