Donation of a ‘77 Mercedes for
scholarships for student tutors
in The Learning Center at
Skyline.

You can avoid the difficulties of trying to sell your used vehicle by donating it to the San Mateo County Community Colleges Foundation. No need to place for-sale ads, take phone calls, schedule appointments, meet with strangers in your home or haggle with dealers over price. If your vehicle is running or not (in most cases), you can turn it into a gift to support local college students. We do the paperwork and you receive an income tax deduction.

Proceeds from the sale of donated cars, trucks, RVs, motorcycles and boats go to provide scholarships and support for educational programs and services at Cañada College, College of San Mateo and Skyline College. It's a great way to make a contribution to your community colleges and gain a tax deduction.

How our Program Works:

  • Call the Foundation Office, (650) 358-6759 or e-mail schaffd@smccd.edu, and leave your name, address, telephone number, year, make, and model of the vehicle.
  • Our representative from the auction house will contact you within 24 hours to obtain more information about the vehicle, and if we accept it, you will be sent  appropriate DMV forms to complete.
  • When you return the necessary documents, arrangements are made for the delivery of the vehicle to the auction house.
  • When you deliver the vehicle you will turn over the keys and pink slip.
  • A receipt for your donation will be sent to you.
Let your old car provide new hope to a student struggling to remain in college. Please call today, (650) 358-6759 or e-mail schaffd@smccd.edu, to donate a vehicle you no longer need.
