Menstruation
Menstrual cycle takes about 28 days to complete one cycle, although this can vary from month to month and from woman to woman. On the first day of the cycle, blood-rich fluid, about 4-6 tablespoons total, starts flowing out through the vaginal canal. while the cylce progresses, an oocyte matures and is released form an ovary. Hormones prim the endometrium of the uterus to receive and nourish the embryo. If fertilizaiton occurs and an embryo becomes implanted in the endometrium, menstrual cyucling will stop. If a pregnancy does not occur the endometrium will brak down and a new cycle will begin.
