About this class:

This class is the current required Update Training classes from the Bureau of Automotive Repair. It's about rules and regulations, and how you find information in the Inspection Manual. You will take a 50 question test in class, and if you pass, this will qualify you to renew your smog license. You will then have to send in a smog license application, but you won't have to take that long Smog License exam at Experior to renew your smog license. But this class only works to renew a current smog license or a smog license that is less than a year old. If your smog license has expired more than a year, or you are upgrading from an EB to an EA license, you still have to take the long Smog License exam.

Your exam will be graded in class. Your pass/fail results will be posted on the BAR web site within 48 yours of the class. You should leave class with a certificate, or put your address on an envelope so we can mail it to you.

During the examination, you are not allowed to talk to other students. And don't mark on the books you use during the exam. These infractions can result in your exam being invalid.

To Prepare for this class:

We recommend you read the BAR Inspection Manual, revision 6. You should be familiar with how the book is organized so you can easily find information in the book. The test will not only ask you for a correct answer, but you will have to fill in the section number where you found the answer. There will also be questions on the Laws and Regulations manual (the brown book of laws). You don't have to bring any books to the class. We will have books you can use for the exam.
