Look on the following
website for a list of “best” restaurants from which to choose for this
assignment:

Choose your favorite type
of food, click on it, and check out the listed restaurants by clicking on the
links.
Choose a restaurant that
will offer the finest possible experience and go there for
dinner. While there, observe all of the details of the experience –
particularly the sensory experiences you have -- tastes, smells, textures,
colors. Write about the food just the way you did with the chocolate
exercise. Use your best descriptive writing to make me feel like I’m
there. Turn in your report along with a picture of yourself at (outside or
inside) the restaurant, and your receipt for the price of the meal. Since you
are not spending much money on textbooks for this class, I expect you to use
this opportunity to visit a really special restaurant. Local fast-food places,
chain restaurants, and local cafes do not qualify.
Use the opportunity to really
experience your food and to enjoy yourself. Taste thoughtfully! Enjoy
conversation, but don’t be distracted from ever really contemplating the
balances and contrasts of flavors in well-prepared food.
Note the organization of
the food and the structure of the experience.
