Engaging the Senses in a Garden

It is hard for me to come up with an engagement of the sense of smell that makes it possible to write about only the qualities of smell, so I thought a garden may in part engage this sense.  Read the Engaging Architecture assignment first, and then adapt it to the garden.  How is your experience guided by the planners and maintainers of the garden?  Note “rooms” and spaces and what cues suggest them.  Address the mixture of colors, textures, leaf shapes, patterns and so on, and at least try to write about smells and fragrances of the garden, including the non-flowery ones.
