We thank you for your interest in the America Counts Tutoring/Mentoring Program. It has been our goal to provide quality tutoring/mentoring services to local elementary schools in order improve the reading and math performance of elementary school children. We hope that you are as committed as we are to making a difference in our community.

How to apply:

· Download the America Counts Application and submit to the Skyline College Office of Financial Aid. America Counts Application

· Download the America Counts Recommendation Form and submit to the Office of Financial Aid. America Counts Recommendation Form

· Complete the 2007/2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. It is never to late! However, preference will be given to those have completed the application and have been determined Federal Work-Study (FWS) eligible. Fill out FAFSA now

Tutor Requirements:

· Enthusiastic and interested in working with children.

· Good communication skills.

· Patient, empathetic, creative and have the ability to lead and instruct.

· Timely, responsible and dedicated.

· Have completed English 836 or an equivalent course with a minimum grade of B

· Have completed Math 110 or an equivalent course with a minimum grade of B

· Enroll in Learning Skills 110

· Dedicated to making a difference in the community!

· Able to make a one-year commitment.
