In September 2001, our One Stop Student Services Center
opened in a newly remodeled facility. The departments were previously housed in
separate offices located on different floors and in different buildings. The
One Stop Center now provides easy access to our students because Admissions and
Records, Assessment, Cashiers, Career/Transfer Center, Counseling, Disabled
Students Program and Services (DSPS), Extended Opportunity Program and Services
(EOP&S), Financial Aid, and the Health Center are all integrated, not only
physically, but technologically as well. The change has presented a huge
challenge and our classified staff has met this challenge with down to earth
hard work and patience. Every individual embraces the Center’s philosophy
of “Students First” and provides outstanding service. Each student
who enters the Center receives personal and friendly assistance. This
one-on-one interaction not only alleviates anxiety and uncertainty on the part
of the student, it is the first step in building a relationship between the
student and the employees at Skyline College that continues and grows as the
student pursues his/her educational goal.
