Summer Schedule: Regina
Stanback-Stroud was a guest speaker at the meeting to discuss the summer schedule.
She handed out a report that was prepared after the last summer semester with
input from the faculty and staff that were impacted by the 2 five week
sessions. Students did really well and liked the offering of the 2 five week
sessions. Faculty found it challenging to get all the necessary work completed in
such a short time span. Staff missed their down time. It was difficult working
vacations into the schedule. The summer schedule changed in an attempt to
increase FTES. With the change, instead of going down, as in the previous
years, there was a slight increase in the FTES.
This summer semester there will be 2 five week sessions
offered again. The semester will be more organized and there will be better
communication. The Class Schedule will have graphics that explain the various
sessions. If you have questions contact the Division Deans or for non-Division
questions, contact ReginaÕs office.
Diversity Training:
Donna Elliott reported that she is working with Jerry Frassetti (Retired from
CSM) to offer diversity training at Skyline. The training will include a film
and lecture. This is still in the planning stages and no date has been set.
They hope to offer the training this spring. Watch for future announcements.
Spring Basket Fundraiser: Linda Herda reports that there will be a spring basket fundraiser. She
is working with Sylvia, Cass, and Sue from A&R, and Donna Elliot. The hope
is to raffle 3 baskets with a spring theme. Sylvia and Cass will handle the
raffle ticket distribution and collection. Sue will fill and decorate the
baskets. Donna will do a flyer to advertise the fundraiser. Donations for the
spring theme baskets are welcome and can be dropped off at the A&R counter.
The raffle will be held towards the end of March.
MOT Event: Skyline
College, San Bruno, will present the documentary ÒBig EnoughÓ as part of its
ÒDiverse-ability: Culture and CommunityÓ film festival, on Thursday, February
8th at 1 p.m. in the Main Theatre. Admission is free and light refreshments
