7th meeting were reviewed and approved as written.
Committee List

- She will let Adolfo know what other Classified staff will be
selected
- Still
have vacancies for Classified Staff on Ed Policy Committee, Institutional
Planning Committee, and Campus Technology Advisory Committee.

Scholarship
- Linda
Herda checked with the District Office and the Classified Council can set
up a Classified Scholarship Fund, for payroll deduction by employees
- Linda
can supply additional information
- The
scholarship that was voted on by the Classified Council in August to honor
David Galang was discussed. Some members were concerned that the Council
would name a Scholarship after David this year and take it away next year.
- The
group explained that the Classified Council voted to give one of the
three scholarships that we usually give in the name of David Galang, to a
Cosmetology student for this year only.
- This one of the three scholarships can be set aside to honor or
recognize someone from Skyline each year. The name can change from year
to year. It could be in a personŐs name more than one time, but that
would be up to the Council

Herda read a thank you letter from one of last yearŐs scholarship
recipients.
Fundraisers
- Bake
Sale
- Clydie
and Stanlee agreed to co-chair the fundraiser with Roxanne.
- Bake
sale will be held on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, 7:30 am – 12:00 pm
- Location
– in front of Bldg 6, inside if it rains
- Emails
will be sent announcing the Bake Sale and reminding the staff to donate
goodies.
- Post
event on the ASSC Board in front, if ASSC will give us permission
- Bring
your fundraiser ideas to the October meeting
Staff Development
- Suggestions
are welcome for ideas on potential Classified Staff Development
- Computer
Classes
- Fitness
(trails and activities available on campus)
- A
Saturday barbeque
- Scavenger
hunt for team building
- Movie
night in room 6204
- Game
show event, (Hollywood Squares, Pictionary, etc.)
CSEA Report
- Cass
Christian was elected to attend the CSEA meeting in Las Vegas; she wanted to
thank the Classified Staff that voted for her to be able to attend. She
said the trip was really informative and she had a lot of fun.
- Cass
wants to encourage the Classified Staff to participate in the Union
events. She would like to bring a different person with her to each
meeting.
- If you would like to go with Cass, please give her a call
- Meetings are on Wednesdays, 5:00-6:00 pm
- There
will be two meeting coming up at Skyline
- 9/19 a brown bag lunch meeting from 12:00-1:00 pm
- 10/17 a District wide drive meeting at Skyline from 12:00-1:00
pm, location to be determined
- Cass
would like to see more Skyline Employees to participate in the CSEA
Christmas luncheon.
- It will be held at the Crystal Springs Golf Course.
- Tentative date is Dec. 5th.
- Cost will be about $26 per person
- CSEA will pay $11 per person and members will have to pay the
balance, $15
New Business
- Adolfo
passed out a handout from Claremont EAP – A SMCCCD benefit for
employee/family behavioral services are available to all District
employees.
- Barbara
Daley announced an upcoming speaker series that is scheduled at various
locations in the Peninsula Library System. On October 11th
there is an evening with the Author Isabel Assende; beginning at 7:30 pm,
at the San Mateo Performing Arts Center 650 N. Delaware St., San Mateo,
admission is free.

Next meeting will be Oct.
4th from 2:00 pm – 3 pm, room 5131. Adolfo is trying to get a
room for our meeting in Building 6. He will notify us if there is a location
change.
