Emergency Medical Technician-1
Certificate
Upon successful
completion of the EMT-1 course (EMC
410) students
will be awarded an EMT-1 Course Completion Certificate. This
certificate will enable the student to apply for EMT-1 Certification.
EMT-1 Certification is required for employment with an ambulance
company and for entrance into the Fire Service or paramedic school.
Please read all course requirements carefully before
registering.
Advanced Emergency Medical
Care Training
EMT-1s may undertake
additional training for licensure as paramedics. Paramedics are
responsible for assessment, treatment and transport of ill or injured
patients at an Advanced Life Support Level. Training programs last up
to two years and graduates command significantly higher salaries than
EMT-1s. Persons interested in parademic training may wish to explore
