6. Monitor progress on the identification of "substitution" courses as stated in the Academic Adjustments Policy for Disabled Students.
7. Continue to receive updates from the Degree Audit Technical Sub-committee
8. Post all committee information on the Ed Policy Committee website.

3. Appeals Policy for Student Grievances – Evelyn
Evelyn noted that the policy was approved by Academic Senate at the May, 2003, meeting. The policy appears in the 03-04 Student Handbook, which is also posted on Skylinecollege.net.

4. Student Grievances Appeals Form revisions – Jennifer
Based on committee recommendations at the May meeting, Jennifer offered to make revisions to the form and present these at the next meeting.

5. Credit by Exam Updates
The committee will continue to work on the Credit by Exam language that appears in the catalog. A sub committee worked on rewording the text to clarify the process. This year the committee will review the language and work on firming up the procedures.
Last spring, the committee asked the departments to identify courses offered credit by exam. It was suggested at the meeting that a packet of guidelines be prepared to assist the departments in this effort. Also, it was noted that Linda Rosa Corazon made a presentation to the English Department which helped faculty to identify credit by exam courses.
For clarification, grading for courses offered credit by exam remains consistent with what was approved by the curriculum committee for the course.

6. Other:
Computerized Prerequisite Checking: The SMT division reps. expressed interest in getting more information about this process. Evelyn will check on the status of the District wide Computer Prerequisite Checking Task Force. The Task Force was very active in assisting the English departments during the implementation of computer blocking for English courses. Computerized prerequisite checking for English courses has been in place for 4 semesters. The Matriculation Office received fewer prerequisite challenges this semester noting that over time students had a better understanding of English prerequisites. Counseling has received positive feedback from Language Arts that students now understand the prerequisite process better.
The committee is interested in having "recommendation" highlighted on the screen in webSMART when a student enrolls for a class that has a recommendation. This currently happens with prerequisites.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
