Periodicals on the Web

You can search for articles in hundreds of full-text periodicals in the FindArticles.com and the MagPortal.com free web databases and you can check the Internet Public Library's Online Serials directory or use a general Web search engine to see if a particular periodical has a website. Magazines, journals and newspapers that have websites sometimes provide access to back issues (archives) of their publications. These archives vary in what they provide--from just occasional selected articles to more complete access to all articles in back issues. Sometimes they provide free access to the full-text of all articles; sometimes they charge a fee for articles.

JournalSeek, the "largest completely categorized database of journal information available on the internet," is useful for finding journal websites, but most of these journals require subscriptions and full-text articles are not freely available.
