MORNING AUTOMOTIVE
TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
Professional
General Automotive Technology Program: This
program is generic in nature and covers domestic,
European, and Japanese vehicles. Emphasis is
on all areas of the automobile except body and
fender. The program takes three years to complete,
with over 2100 hours of technical training, students
have extensive hands-on training as well as academic
preparation. Entrance into the program requires
a special application and successful completion
of prerequisites.
Program
Advantages: The major advantage of this program
is expanded, in-depth training in all areas automotive
repair, with major emphasis on advanced electronics,
computer control, and emission control. The program
provides extensive hands-on training in testing
and diagnosis of real problems on late model vehicles.
This training prepares students for A.S.E. certification
and State license examinations.

Technical
Training: The Professional Automotive Technology
training program has been designed in cooperation
with automotive manufacturers, independent
repair facilities, automotive trade unions,
and master technicians. Students attend classes
four days a week, five hours per day, Monday
through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday,
from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ninety automotive semester
units in total, over 2160 hours of training,
provide students with both in-depth training
in automotive technology and extensive hands-on
experiences. Students have an opportunity for
selection into the T-TEN program after one
semester in the Automotive Technology program
if they desire. |
Program
Benefits: The Professional Automotive Technology
training program is committed to high-tech automotive
training. Students work on the latest automotive
technology using state-of-the-art diagnostic
equipment, such as scan tools or digital storage
devices. Students learn on a variety of auto
manufacturers vehicles.
