Marques Benjamin
Mayville State University

Marques was named Honorable Mention NAIA All-American as a senior.  With 190 assists, he set the all-time record for assists in a season.  Marques was a unanimous selection for 1st Team All-Conference.  He led the Dakota Athletic Conference in assists and was 10th in scoring (13.7 ppg).  He finished 3rd in the nation in assists per game (6.8 apg).  He was also named national Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 21-27. 
As a junior, Marques led the Comets to the national championship game.  As the starting point guard, Marques led Mayville State to a 27-9 record.  The Comets won the regular season conference championship, and the DAC Tournament Championship. Marques started 54 of 64 games during his two seasons at Mayville.  Over his two-year career, Marques shot 48% from the field, and 78% from the line, while averaging 4.8 rpg and 5.6 apg.  Marques also finished his career with a 2.3:1 assist:turnover ratio.
           
                                          

Sam Wilhoite
University of Hawaii- Hilo

Sam received All Pac-West Honors in both of his seasons at University of Hawaii- Hilo.  Over his two-year career, Sam started in 50 out of 52 games, leading the team in rebounding and blocks both years.  In his senior year, Sam averaged 9.9 ppg and 6 rpg.  He shot 51% from the floor and 76% from the FT line. 
As a junior, Sam averaged nearly a double-double in league.  He scored 12.5 ppg while collecting 9.3 rpg in the Pac-West.  Sam was 2nd in the conference in rebounding, 4th in blocks, and was top 20 in scoring, FG%, FT%, and minutes played.  He also recorded eight double-double’s his junior season.








Filip Popovic

Seattle Pacific University
Filip appeared in 41 career games at Seattle Pacific University, during which time the Falcons posted a 39-17 record.  SPU qualified for the NCAA National Tournament both years, achieving a national ranking during both seasons.  Filip finished his career a 56% shooter from the field.

As a senior, Filip was named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Academic All-Star Team.  A Computer Science major, he earned a 3.25 GPA.     
During his junior season, SPU won their second straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championship.

                                   

Brannon Burnett
Millersville University

Brannon played the 2007-08 season for the Millersville University Marauders.  The team posted a record of 22-10, reaching its second straight NCAA Tournament East Regional Final.  He appeared in 16 games over the course of the year, averaging 7.8 ppg.
Brannon ranked 4th on the team in scoring at 7.8 ppg, 4th  in assists, 2nd in assist:turnover ratio, and 6th in steals.   He also led the team in FT shooting at 87%, connecting on 26 of 30 attempts.          



 



Jeremy Francis
Mayville State UniversityJeremy played the 2007-08 season for the Mayville State University Comets.  He appeared in 13 games over the course of the year, averaging 5.7 ppg.
Jeremy shot 47.6% from the field, 32% from behind the arc, and 75% from the FT line.  He also recorded nearly a 2:1 assist:turnover ratio.

 

 

 

 

 

Bryan Ngo
University of Hawaii- Hilo

In his first season at University of Hawaii-Hilo Bryan appeared in all twenty-seven games for the Vulcans, leading them to a 3rd place finish in the Pacific West Conference.  He led the team in assists, was 4th in steals, and 5th on the team in scoring at 10ppg.  Bryan connected on 47% of his shots throughout the season and 73% of his free throws.  He also led the team in 3FG% at 44%.

Bryan recorded his career-high in the 2nd to last game of the year leading Hilo to an important win over Hawaii Pacific.  The win clinched 3rd place in the Pac West for the Vulcans.  Bryan led the scoring attack with 21 points.  He connected on 8 of 9 FT’s and knocked down three 3-pointers.

 

 

 

                                   

Mario Flaherty
Houston Baptist Univ.

In his first season as a Division-I player Mario started 20 games for Houston Baptist University.  Playing with a roster full of seniors, he was able to lead the team in FG% hitting 47% of his shots.  In addition, he was 3rd on the team in rebounding, 5th in scoring, 3rd in FT’s attempted, and 3rd in blocks.  He recorded his career-high in points on the road vs. Chicago State in the 2nd to last game of the year.  Mario connected on 8 of 12 shots, finishing with 18 points.
In his first season at HBU, Mario faced the likes of Marquette, Villanova, and Ohio State.

 






SHAWN ECHOLS
HOUSTON BAPTIST UNIVERSITY

Shawn signed a Division-I scholarship to play at Houston Baptist University in 2009-10.  He just completed his two-year career at Skyline, in which he started all 62 games he played.  As a sophomore, Shawn was 2nd in the state in steals and 23rd in assists per game.   He averaged 10.2ppg, 4.2 apg, 3.7rpg, and 3.7 steals per game.  He also recorded a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio.  He was named 2nd Team All-Conference in the Coast-North.  In addition, Shawn ranks 26th on the All-Time Career Assists list for Skyline College.

Shawn is also an outstanding student.  He has been named to the Student-Athlete Academic Achievement list each semester and was awarded the prestigious Garlington Award as the top male student-athlete on campus this year.



Matt Fochtman
Colorado State- Pueblo

Matt signed a full scholarship to play at Colorado State-Pueblo in 2009-10, after completing a successful two years at Skyline.  Pueblo competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, one of the top D-II leagues in the country.
Matt leaves Skyline having entered the record books in both scoring and rebounding; he ranks 32nd all-time in scoring, and 24th all-time in rebounding. As a sophomore, Matt led Skyline in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots.  He tallied 13.4ppg, 7.2 rpg, and 1.8 blocks.  In addition, he shot 66% from the field, which was 4th in the state. 
Matt recorded 7 double-double’s during his sophomore season and was named All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Livingstone College

Rodney signed a full scholarship to play at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC after the 2008-09 season.  Livingstone competes in the Central Collegiate Athletic Association, an NCAA Division-II conference made up of ten historically African-American institutions of higher education.  The CIAA is the nation’s oldest black athletic conference.
Rodney finished in the state’s top 10 in two categories.  He ranked 7th in FT%, hitting 89-106 FT’s (84%).  Rodney also averaged 2.7 steals per game, which was 7th best in California.

Rodney was 2nd on the team in FG%, rebounds, FT’s made, and steals- while finishing 3rd in scoring.  For the season he averaged 10.6ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.8 apg, while shooting 52.4% from the floor.  Rodney was also named All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Livingstone College

Ronney was 2nd in scoring for the Trojans this past season at 12.8ppg.  He also finished 5th in the state in 3FG%, hitting 45.7% from beyond the arc.  In the opening round of this year’s state tournament, Ronney connected on all 7 of his 3-point attempts, finishing with 26 points.  For his efforts, he was named All-Conference Honorable Mention.  Ronney appeared in every game during his two-year career at Skyline

Academy of Art University


Devin signed a scholarship to play at the Academy of Art University (AAU) for the 2009-10 season.  AAU is an NCAA Division-II school that competes in the Pacific West Conference.
In his first and only season at Skyline, Devin started 21 games at point guard.  He averaged a team-best 4.2 assists per game, which ranked 18th in the state among freshmen.  He also averaged 5.8 points per game and finished 4th on the team in steals. 
Devin earned academic recognition at Skyline as well by being named to the Dean’s List in Fall 2009.
