Justin Piergrossi Head Coach

Justin Piergrossi is entering his fifth season as head coach at Skyline.  After spending the first two years on the road, Piergrossi is looking forward to his first season with a home court.  The team will be moving back into their renovated gymnasium this season after playing and practicing in San Mateo the previous two years.  In his first season, Piergrossi inherited a team that had won six games the season before.  With a roster of all freshman, Skyline won nine games his first season.  Last year, playing without its two top post players for over a month, the Trojans posted 11 wins.  Three of the four sophomores who finished the 2005-06 season signed scholarships to continue their education and playing careers at four-year universities.

Piergrossi became the sixth head coach in Skyline's illustrious history after serving five seasons as an assistant coach at the University of San Francisco.

Piergrossi is well known in both the Bay Area and in California after serving as USF's top assistant and recruiting coordinator.  He recruited the team MVP in each of his last two seasons on the staff.  During his time at USF he also coached one WCC Player of the Year (Kenyon Jones), two 1st Team All-Conference selections (John Cox, Darrell Tucker), one All-Conference honorable mention (Tyrone Riley), and one WCC Newcomer of the Year (Darrell Tucker). In 1999-2000 Piergrossi was also part of a USF team that achieved the school's highest win total in three decades.

In his time at USF, Piergrossi's duties gradually shifted from the day-to-day operations of the program to the recruitment of student-athletes and opponent scouting. He played a key role in the advance scouting of many of the Dons' upsets over the past few years, including Michigan , BYU, Ohio State and Fresno State .

In addition to his role on the court, Piergrossi served an equally important role off the court. His role as an academic mentor proved invaluable as USF claimed one of the highest graduation rates in the country year after year.

Prior to joining Philip Mathews' staff at USF, Piergrossi served as an assistant coach at Hanover College in Hanover , IN. At Hanover , he was part of a perennial Division III power, working for Dr. Michael Beitzel, two-time Midwest District NABC Coach of the Year. At Hanover , Piergrossi concentrated on the team's defense, which ranked 9th in the nation in points allowed per game in 1997-98.

Piergrossi also interned for the Philadelphia 76ers in its front office and volunteered for the University of Connecticut during its 1995-96 Big East Championship season. He is well known on the summer basketball camp circuit as well after working a number of the top camps on the east coast and in the Midwest .

Piergrossi hails from Bloomfield, CT where he played at Bloomfield High School for legendary coach Joe Reilly. Reilly is one of the winningest coaches in Connecticut High School Basketball history. Following his playing career at Bloomfield, Piergrossi went on to earn his undergraduate degree at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Sports Management and Finance. VOLLEYBALL

Head Coach: Rayannah Salahuddin

Education: B.S. Kinesology (Teaching/ Coaching), Humboldt State University

"My coaching philosophy is: education, strategy, execution, and risk aversion. I believe in educating my players in the most advanced volleyball skills, as well as, expecting a minimum GPA of a 3.50 while they participate in our year-round program. We offer one of the few year-round volleyball programs at the junior college level: off-season conditioning classes, volleyball classes that cover volleyball theory, tactics, and strategy. My #1 goal is to help my players get recruited to a four-year university.

I specifically train middle blockers to be devastating and powerful hitters. You will learn how to move across the net and set a solid block, transition off the net, and take an approach for numerous quickset attacks (1's, Back 1's, Dogs, 31's ect). You will also learn how to create holes on your opponents block by running effective plays from the middle.
