2008 Program Highlights |
|
We are striving to achieve excellence in our program. We have a completely renovated facility and a coaching staff dedicated to the development of our players academically, athletically and personally. We will push you harder than you have ever been pushed before. You will increase your skills and become the type of student, athlete, and person that can be recruited by a four-year college or university. We will start planning for the 2008 season right now. If you are interested in Skyline College Volleyball please fill out the Prospective Recruit form and email it to Coach Ray (salahuddinr@smccd.edu). She will contact you within 12-24 hours. Skyline College Off-Season Training Program (for incoming recruits) This program is designed for a player that wants to matriculate to a four-year college or university. We recommend that you start taking conditioning and skills classes at Skyline College in January, although we welcome recruits throughout the year. If you join our program in January, we will start an instructional program that combines 1-on-1 and small group volleyball technique sessions along with resistance, cardiovascular and flexibility training. Starting in January through the middle of March our focus will be on weight lifting to strengthen and stabilize your joints. In addition to this, we hold training sessions once a week in our volleyball class. Starting in late March to through May we began heavier lifting and high intensity cardiovascular training. The number of volleyball class training session increases from once a week to twice a week. We spend three weeks in June with a recovery period to prepare for our summer classes. Once the summer begins, we offer classes four days a week to prepare for the season. At the start of August, we begin an intense twice a day class focused on preparing for competition. The class is designed to build your skills, stamina and attitude. Each day is divided into two 3 hours training sessions. During this class we cover our offensive and defensive system for the team. After this class the team starts regular practice on August 15th. 08/03/07 |
