About
SkySmog.com
SkySmog is part of the Skyline
College Automotive Department. This site was set up to provide the latest
information on classes and requirements for smog technicians.
Why take classes
at Skyline?
- We work closely with the
Bureau of Automotive Repair (B.A.R.) to assure we have the latest information
and training standards that they require.
- Quality, specialized instruction
is provided by a full-time staff of ASE and B.A.R.certified professors
with many years of industry and teaching experience.
- Evening and weekend classes
are provided to make it easier for the working technician to meet the
requirements for their smog licenses whether they are obtaining one
for the first time or are renewing their license.
- Classes are inexpensive
because they are put on by the Junior College which is subsidized by
tax-payer money.
- Certified by NATEF (National
Automotive Technicians Education Foundation.)
- Teachers care about their
students and are fully committed to their success.
- Students get practical,
hands-on training using either student vehicles or one of Skyline's
own late-model cars. (There are over 90 vehicles.)
- Links with local industry
exist to assist students with job placement.
- Student services are available
in many areas: child care, counseling, financial aid, health services,
library and tutorial services, and low cost health insurance.
