Registering for classes is
important. Classes can be cancelled if not enough students are registered.
To
register do two things:
1.
Fill out a college application if you haven't taken a class at Skyline
in the last year. You can do that online or at the Admissions and Records
office. It will take them a couple of days to get you in the system.
Even if you have taken a class before, they need to upgrade your address
information for billing purposes every year. On the form you need to
tell them you are just upgrading job skills, or they will make you see
a conselor before you can register. So click on "Advance in current
job/career (update job skills)" in the box that asks for "Educational
Goal". Don't say you want a certificate, even though you want a
smog certificate. They are talking about a different kind of certificate,
and there are many more steps before they will let you register for
a class. Also, don't click on the "Automotive Technology"
button. It's only if you want to apply to the full time program. Go
here
to fill out an application on-line.
2.
Register for the class online after you are in the system. Go to websmart
and use your social security number as your "User ID" and
your birth date as the "Pin". Type in your social security
number with no dashes, just the numbers. Put in your birth date with
just numbers: mmddyy. For example, May 15, 1981 would be 051581. Then
use that magic number, the "CRN", to register for the class.
It will be a 5 digit number given with the class information. If you
don't have it, you can look for it here.
