Abstract:

Skyline College is one of 3 individual Colleges of the San Mateo Community College District.  This multicollege district shares a common Information Technology department that provides standardized equipment, programs and training to faculty.  Because of differences in the student populations Skyline was able to obtain a Department of Education TitleIII grant.  A portion of TitleIII grant monies was specifically earmarked to increase the communication between faculty and students.  In order to accomplish this task over 50 faculty have received release time to undergo extensive training by the District IT and to work on these websites.  This study compares the number and use of websites by Skyline College with its sister Colleges, Canada and the College of San Mateo (CSM).  While Skyline is smaller in number of faculty and students to CSM and larger than Canada, the Skyline campus has more faculty web pages that are used to a greater extent than the other two campus’s.
