Before you begin to collect your resources consider the ethics expected of you as a college level student or professional writer. Citing your resources gives due credit to the creator of the work you are using , allows readers to easily find the sources you have referred to in your work, documents the amount of research you have done resulting in more details, a wider range of perspectives and more up-to-date information.

1   Discriminate between fair use and illegal use.
2   Determine whether any borrowed portion of an essay is "fair use" or needs permission.
3   Adopt stategies to avoid plagiarizing other people's work. .
4   Use MLA standard citiation in your bibliography. .
