(16) Wednesday, Dec. 3
OUTCOME: Create sentences for the vocabulary section of the final exam. Combine sentences with compare/contrast words.

  1. Preview, read, and annotate 72- 89 in Generation Me, Chapter 3.
  2. Work on your essay, which is due on Monday.
  3. Optional: Work on your revision of essay #3, which is due next by next Wednesday. Meet with me if you plan to revise.

Friday, Dec. 5
OUTCOME: Discuss chapter 3. Review sentence combining techniques.

  1. Work on your essay. Staple together (a) a letter to me about what worked and what you struggled with, (b) your essay, and (c) your two blue peer response sheets.
  2. Preview, read, and annotate 90-103 in Generation Me, and review chapter 4. Be prepared to make connections between the two chapters.
  3. By next Wednesday, preview, read, and annotate 137-158 of Generation Me, Chapter 5.
  4. Optional: Work on your revision of essay #3, which is due next by next Wednesday. Meet with me if you plan to revise.

(17) Monday, Dec. 8
OUTCOME: Discuss chapters 3 &4.

  1. Preview, read, and annotate 137-158 of Generation Me, Chapter 5.
  2. Submit your 16 HBA.
  3. Optional: If you revised, highlight any major changes on your revision. Submit it along with the original essay with my comments and the gradesheet.

Wednesday, Dec. 10
OUTCOME: Discuss Chapter 5 and prepare for the final exam.

  1. The final exam will be on Monday, Dec. 15, from 11:10-1:40 in the computer lab. To prepare, (a) review all of the chapters in Generation Me except Chapter 7, and read chapter 8, (b) commit the prefixes, suffixes, and roots to memory, and (c) review coordinators, subordinators, and adjective clauses.

On the day of the exam, you may use Generation Me and one page of notes (which excludes the prefixes, suffixes, and roots) on the back of the handout on preparing for the final exam.
